But....not ALL lake co naturalizations are there. Some are held in Hammond at one courthouse, and some are at the Superior Courthouse in Hammond I think. Gary doesnt know where there's are. The two sites in Hammond...now those arent in the index at the library by the genealogy society, theyre on microfiche at the courthouses....and the two courthouses have totally seperate records. Just like birth/death records...how here a few towns kept their own (East Chicago, Hammond and Gary...you have to go to those respective health dept's to get them) but the rest of the county's records are in Crown Point...even if you get a clerk that says theyre not.
