During all of my questions I had put out to the list it reminded me of something I had found a while back. At first I thought found my James McCOLLUM on an immigration ship that I was looking for but the family information taken from the ship didn't match. I however held onto the information thinking there must be a link. Now after getting it back out I can tell there is no link at all. I was blinded that even though these 2 men have the same birth year and name it would be impossible for them to be the same James I am looking for since on the ship he was 37 years old married and had a young daughter. My James was 28 when he married for the first time to Daisy BROWN in Michigan. I guess it was hopefull thinking. I was thinking maybe my James married before and went back for a visit and something must have happened to his family in LA., and he moved on to Michigan. But I kept thinking this must be my James because of the same birth year. But I failed to remember he married Daisy at age 28 in MI and on the ship that James was 37 years old. Boy I sure was blinded because I wanted it to be my James so bad so I could finally put some pieces together. But it wasnt' until I got it back out again did I see my mistake. I hope this is of some use to someone out there. So here is the information on the Ship Manifest from the Ellis Island on-line if anyone would like to have it.
