There is apparently a somewhat different obit on 24 Nov 1917 from the Lake County Times; this 22 Nov seems more like a news item about her death; I had not shown her first husband, nor did I realize that the John Maas of Schererville was a stepson from Peter's first marriage (to Catherine Kiefer) until I checked my notes. WPA marr. rec. shows Sophie m. to Peter Brown, but he is listed as Braun in several parish records and eventually the pair shows up in St. Joseph's cemetery records as Peter J. Brown and Sophia Brown; of their three children one was a prominent Lake County dentist (Frank J. Brown) for 52 years, dying 7 Mar 1976, presumably in Hammond. The dau Margaret as mentioned is not Anna's but her daughter Sophia's child (buried next to them in St. Joseph's cem.) This was a very useful article... thanks, Cheryl! Paul Davis
