The Hammond Times Indiana Dec. 22, 1936 Mrs. Hilda LAGER, 73, well known throughout the Calumet region for her many activities in lodge and civic circles, died yesterday at her home in East Chicago at 4923 Todd Avenue. She was a resident of that city for more than 45 years. Mrs. LAGER had been ailing for more than a year and her condition had grown steadily worse, one of the members of the family said. Survivors: Daughters: Mrs. Reinhardt EISTER Mrs. Fred ANDERSON of Hammond Son: Walter of East Chicago Four grandchildren and one great grandchild. Services will be held tomorrow at Fife's funeral chapel in East Chicago with Rev. Frank Bonander, pastor of the St. Paul's Evangelical church, officiating. Burial will take place in the Swedish cemetery at Porter. Mrs. LAGER'S body may be viewed at the funeral home at 706 West Chicago Avenue. Mrs. LAGER was active in the Twin City's early social life and until her illness made such activity impossible. She was a member of the Maccabees, Lady Svithiod and the Lady Vikings.
