The Hammond Times Indiana May 19, 1943 Brothers in Service Robert BRAUSCH, 19, and his brother Joseph, 20, both are serving Uncle Sam in uniform, one the khaki of the Army and the other the blues of the Coast Guard. Robert, who entered the Armed forces Jan. 29, this year is stationed at Camp Haan, Calif., in the anti-aircraft coastal artillery as a radio sound detector and searchlight operator. He was promoted to sergeant a few weeks ago after only three months in the Army. Joseph, electricians mate third class, entered service in August last year and was graduated from the Naval Armory at Detroit, Michigan on Jan. 12. He now is stationed with the Coast Guard at Manistee, Michigan. Sons of Mr. and Mrs. James BRAUSCH, 6623 Alexander Avenue, Hammond. The pair were defense workers befor joining the service. Joseph was an electrician at the Pullman-Standard Car Manufacturing Company, and Robert was a welder at the Standard Railway Equipment Company.
