    3. The Lake County Times Indiana Jan. 6, 1919 BODNEY Writes Fom "Alabama" The following from one of the best old sports in Lake County and you all know him. McClelland, Ala, Jan.2, 1919 Sporting Editor "Just a few lines letting you know that Papa BODNEY is still down here in "No mans land", Although the war is over we are still kept busy training about 15 minutes a day and then we think about our good Lake County and it's beaches, the best in the country. We hope to be back soon. Well yesterday was New Years and we had one of the best parades ever seen in the state. Men that are almost 80 years of age say they never saw anything like it. We had the kaiser and his gang all boxed up in many ways yesterday. It sure was great and only wish that some of our Lake County folks could have down here to see it. The weather out here is rainy, lots of mud and did not see snow yet. How is it back there? Well, I am O.K. and hope to hear the boys are the same. Regards to all and especially to Dr. CLARK, president of the bowling league. Are you still knocking 'em down Doc? Hope to be with you and the rest soon. Your pal and friend Papa Andrew P. BODNEY Truck Co. B, 12th Am Train Camp McClellan, Alabama"
