The Hammond Times Indiana July 8, 1935 Obits Mother of local man passes Sunday Mrs. R. H. VAN ALSTINE, mother of Robert L. VAN ALSTINE, prominent East Chicago man, died yesterday at her home, 5519 Kenwood Avenue, Chicago. She was 83 years of age. Her son is employed here at the offices of the U. S. Investment Company, a part of the Riley Organization. Other survivors include: Daughter: Mrs. L. LORENZEN of Chicago Grandchildren: Bernhardt and Ellen LORENZEN. The body will remain at the Fife chapel until this evening, when it will be shipped to Gilmore City, Iowa for burial.
