Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph FUZY Sr., a sister Mrs. Marie SCHULTZ, two nephews, all of Hammond. Hessville American Legion Post 232 will conduct services. FUZY was a graduate of Hammond High School and the Valparaiso University Law School. He was born in East Chicago but spent most of his life in the Hessville section of Hammond. He was admitted to the Indiana Bar in 1942 and maintained offices at 6727 Kennedy Avenue with partner Dale SHOUP. In 1946, he was admitted to practice in Federal Courts. FUZY served as Hammond deputy prosecutor Ben Schwartz and also deputy prosecutor of the juvinile court at one time. A member of the armed forces during WW 11, he served as provost marshall in China with the rank of Major and also was a member of the Lake County Reserve Officers Association. FUZY was Judge Advocate of Hessville Community Service Legion Post 232, a member of Sigma Delta Kappa Law Fraternity, the Hammond Bar Association and the Hessville Business Association. He served four years in the Armed Forces, 29 months in China. At one time he was a Democratic candidate for Hammond City Judge.
