    2. Hello all, I'd like to invite you to see the New Look of the NWIGS page! http://www.rootsweb.com/~inlake/nwigs.htm <A HREF="http://www.rootsweb.com/~inlake/nwigs.htm">Northwest Indiana Genealogy Society Homepage</A> Also: NEW! Lake County Cemeteries page! Ive found some DAR readings on microfilm, done in the 1950s, and have been transcribing from that. It includes old stones that even 50 years ago were hard to read...that probably cant be read now, and stones that possibly could be gone now. If you're interested in old cemetery transcriptions of Lake County: http://khuish.tripod.com/lakecems.htm <A HREF="http://khuish.tripod.com/lakecems.htm">Lake County, Indiana Cemeteries</A> Lastly, I went past the Tolleston cemetery in Gary Indiana the other day. This cemetery was the subject of a lot of emails a while back...from it's bad condition (basically a dumping ground), to the township trustees bad effort to clean it up (taking heavy equipment through, which broke a few stones)...until enough of a stink was raised (I think started by me) that they got their act together and took care of it. I am VERY happy to report that it is STILL clean, looks like it's being cared for, mowed, etc. Here it is the end of summer, and it looks freshly mowed, no overgrowths on the actual cemetery. You can even see about 20-30 stones, up on the hill, from the road. Isn't that GREAT! Kathy
