I've identified this individual by a search of her siblings in my database as Mrs. Maria Schmit of Turkey Creek, b. 1875; no information on her husband, but her siblings are listed as Smith; no children listed. She was the oldest daughter of John Nicholas Schmid (1846-1903) of the Merrillville area, and his wife Anna Schillo (1857-1923); I've not yet found a burial (not in St. Joseph's Cem. in Dyer, where her funeral service was to be held).
