The Hammond Times Indiana May 23, 1940 Obits Mrs. Mary Elizabeth KOCH, 89, died Monday at her home. She was the oldest daughter of Lavinia and Samuel SHEARER and the oldest of 14 children. She came to Hobart in 1871 from Stark county, Ohio. She was married Nov. 2, 1872. She was the mother of six children, four boys and two girls. Bleam officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill cemetery.
