The Vidette-Messenger Indiana June 19, 1934 Death Claims John RIDDLE, G.A.R. Member John RIDDLE, age 87 years, former Porter county resident, and a veteran of the Civil War, dieed this morning at the Methodist hospital in Fort Wayne. He had been in critical condition for more than a week. His wife and children were at his bedside when death came. Mr. RIDDLE, for many years resided on a farm in Porter Township, southwest of Valparaiso. During the last twelve years or more he had lived in Fort Wayne. On Memorial Day Sunday, previous to Decoration Day, Mr. RIDDLE participated in the Memorial Sunday rites of his comrades of Walter's G.A.R. Post, in Hebron and also at the Salem cemetery, west of Hebron. He was feeling in excellent health at the time. After a short visit here with relatives and friends he returned to Fort Wayne to take part in Memorial Day rites in that city. Survivors: Widow: ?
