The Hammond Times Indiana Dec. 27, 1940 William KOSTBADE Dies Of Stroke Has Been Resident Of City Since 1893 Hobart William Carl KOSTBADE, 75, former postmaster of Hobart, died at his home here yesterday. He had been in failing health for the last seven months. Death was attributed to a paralytic stroke. KOSTBADE had been a resident of Hobart since 1893. He was appointed postmaster in 1913 and held the position until 1921. The deceased was a member of the Evangelical Lutheran church of Hobart. Survivors: Sons: Louis and Raymond A., both of Hobart Clarence C. and William C. both of Gary Daughters: Mrs. Mabel BLAKO of Gary Mrs. Rose TRENARY of Hobart Mrs. Helyn WRIGHT of Trenton, Mich. Brother: Charles of Chicago Services Sunday in the Evangelical Lutheran church with Rev. G. H. Henntschel officiating. Burial in the Hobart cemetery.
