The Vidette-Messenger March 22, 1972 Obits Arthur D. WERTZ, 81, of 106 Erie, formerly of South Bend, died Tuesday at the Whispering Pines Home for Senior Citizens after a three month illness. Born Aug. 15, 1890 at Canton, Ohio, he was a son of Henry S. and Anna E. (SMITH) WERTZ. He married Ada BERGER, who survives. He was a member of St. Pauls Memorial Methodist Church, South Bend, and was a retired employee of thr maintenance department of the South Bend Community Schools. Survivors besides his widow of Valparaiso: Daughters: Mrs. Jasper W. MOORLAG, Valparaiso Mrs. W. L. SHEDD, Alexandria, Va. Son: John A. WERTZ, South Bend Sevices Friday at ther Welsheimer Funeral Home, South Bend. Burial in the St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park Cemetery, Granger, Ill. Wetmore Funeral Home is in charge.
