The Hammond Times Indiana June 27, 1935 Obits Well Known Pioneer Is Taken By Death Mrs. Louise HAGEN, well known Lake County pioneer and at one time considered one of the most attractive women in the region, died today at her home, 454 Truman Street, Hammond. She had been in failing health for some time. She had persisted in an unusual request for several years - that when she died her age should not be made known. She and her late husband, John HAGEN, who died seven years ago, celebrated their golden wedding anniversary 13 years ago. Born in Mason, Michigan, she came to Lake County when a child and has lived in the region ever since. Her late husband at one time conducted a well digging business in Hobart. She had resided in Hammond 38 years. Survivors: Daughters: Mrs. Eva Bell FRANCISCO Mrs. Flora HOOKWITH Mrs. Louise FITCH Son: Thomas HAGEN Sisters: Mrs. S. G. CARLEY of Hammond Mrs. Flora HANLON of Middleville, Mich. Mrs. Eva HANSON of Kansas City, Mo. Brothers: Thomas HANNA of Hobart Simeon SMITH of Middleville Services Saturday at the Burns Funeral chapel, with Rev. Frank Watkin officiating. Burial in the Oak Hill cemetery.
