    3. The Vidette-Messenger Indiana May 1, 1973 Obits Mrs. William H. RUGE Sr. Mrs. Ethel RUGE, 75, Rt. 7, (Liberty Township) widow of William H. RUGE Sr., who in 1946 founded the RUGE Meat Packing Company, died at home this morning. A lifelong resident of the area, she was born in Valparaiso July 27, 1897, daughter of George W. and Elma (SKINNER) BULL. On April 11, 1917 in Valparaiso, she was married to William H. RUGE Sr., who preceded her in death March 28, 1964. She was a member of Faith Memorial Lutheran Church, the Women's Guild of the church and the Sisterhood Club. Survivors: Sons: William C., Richard and Donald, all of Liberty Township, who now operate the meat packing firm Daughters: Mrs. Quentin (Dorothy) GILMORE Mrs. Ermand (Ethel Ann) CURTIS Mrs. Robert (Martha Mae) ETCHASON, all of Liberty Township Mrs. Bernard (Isabel) PESTOW of Goshen Brother: John of Sullivan, Ill Sisters: Mrs. John WOHLENBERG of Chicago Mrs. Fred WOHLENBERG of Valparaiso Mrs. Frank BROWN of Valparaiso Besides her husband, a son, Byron, and three sisters preceded her in death. Twenty-two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren Services Thursdasy at the Faith Memorial Lutheran Church with Rev. Howard Behrens officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland cemetery. Burns Funeral Home.
