The Vidette-Messenger Indiana July 15, 1939 South County Resident Dies Sylvanus BEARSS, 90, a Porter county resident for the past 85 years, passed away at his home in Porter Township, where he has lived since the age of five. Death came this morning. Born in Alymer, Ontario, on Oct. 6, 1849, the deceased moved to this community in 1854. He was the son of George and Mary BEARSS. On Oct. 8, 1878, he married Lutitia SHURR, who passed away on June 14, 1933. Services will be held on Monday at the home. A Menenite minister will be in charge. Burial in the Graceland cemetery. Stinchfield funeral directors are in charge. Surviving: Son: George, who resides at home Grandson: Carlton One great granddaughter.
