The Hammond Times Indiana August 25, 1940 Four Calumet Boys Join Army Four more Calumet region boys have joined the U. S. colors, according to an announcement released yesterday by recruiting Sgt. Walter D. HUTH of Gary. They are: Walter L. WRIGHT, 5514 Beal Avenue, Hammond, who was assigned to the Air Corps at Maxwell Field, Ala. Stanley J. TOKARZ, Whiting, to 39th Infantry, Fort Bragg, N. C. Vincent J. BOBIN, East Chicago, to the Air Corps at Maxwell Field James W. CHAMPION, also of East Chicago, to the 39th Infantry.
