The Lake County Times Indiana Oct. 12, 1926 GOLDSTEIN - ROTHSTEIN Monday morning at the residence of Rabbi Hyman of Gary a quiet wedding ceremonty was performed when Miss Shirley GOLDSTEIN and Mr. Meyer ROTHSTEIN were married. The young couple left on a two weeks honeymoon trip to visit relatives of the groom in Cincinnati, Ohio and Memphis, Tennessee. They have both been interested in the establishment of the Prosperity Cleaners for the past few years.

    3. The Lake County Times Indiana Oct. 12, 1926 Announcement is made of the marriage of Miss Mildred HARTIGAN, daughter of Mrs. Lambert LAUERMAN, to Harry T. RICE, Jr., of Hammond. The ceremony was solemnized on Saturday evening by Rev. Atkins at the home of the bride's mother in Crown Point, and was attended by only the immediate families of the young couple and a few friends. Miss Sadie EVANS attended Miss HARTIGAN, and John BRODERICK served as best man. They will make their home in Hammond with the best wishes of their many friends.

The Lake County Times Indiana Oct. 12, 1926 WOLFE - JACKSON An attractive wedding took place at the First Christian church yesterday afternoon when Miss Dorothy WOLFE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John M. WOLFE of Claude Street became the bride of Emmett JACKSON, son of Mr. and Mrs. Silas JACKSON of Oak Street. The wedding was a small one, including only the parents of the bride and groom, the bride's sister and brother and the groom's brother. The bride was lovely in a frock of beige with hat and accessories to harmonize. To complete her costume she wore a corsage of tea roses. Her sister, Miss Julia WOLFE, serving as maid of honor, wore Chanel red and a corsage of attractive flowers to harmonize. The groom was attended as best man by his brother Maurice JACKSON. Following the ceremony a well appointed wedding supper was enjoyed at the home of the bride's parents. Mr. and Mrs. JACKSON have left for Wisconsin for two weeks and will make their home with the grooms parents upon their return. Both the bride and groom are well known in Hammond. Mrs. JACKSON is employed at Gibson and her husband is a foreman at the Inland Steel Company.

    3. The Lake County Times Indiana Oct. 12, 1926 Obits Henry MEYN passed away last night at St. Margaret's hospital after being an invalid since early youth. Mr. MEYN was 64 years of age and had lived with his sister, Mrs. William KOENCKE at 540 Morton Court, Hammond. He was born near Hanover, Germany, and came to America some sixty years ago. Before coming to Hammond he lived in Bloom, Ill., which is now a part of Chicago Heights. Mr. MEYN was well known and liked in the district surrounding the home of Mrs. KOENCKE.

The Hammond Times Friday April 5, 1957 [There is a photo with the following caption] Colorful costumes enhance the dance routines which will be presented by Hammond youngsters at a talent revue to be held Sunday night at the Veteran Hall 241 Gostlin St. Shown at rehearsal are Stanley KALWINSKI [Jr.] 11, of 4250 Baltimore Ave, Anna DOMALIK 11, of 538 Gostlin St, Albert BABINICZ 9, of 241 Gostlin St, and Susie WACHEL 7, of 4403 Towle Ave. Polish folk songs and dances will feature the revue. 'Pageantry of Poland' in Revue Polish melodies and folk dances will be featured in a talent revue Sunday night capping long weeks of rehearsal for a group of Hammond youngsters. On exhibition will be boys and girls in colorful costumes typical of the dress and pageantry of Poland once the homeland for a few of the performers and the national origin of many others. The Public Show, designed to raise funds to further youth activities sponsored by Groups No. 3095 and 118? of the Polish National Alliance, is not the first for most of the performers many of whom took part in the Hammond Centennial Celebration and who have made guest appearances and exchanged similiar youth groups of other nationalities. Diane ZUROWSKI and Mary Ann PULKOWSKI are dance instructors for the group of 40 girls and boys, while singing direction is handled by Ted PAWINSKI, they will direct the Sunday night show to be held at 6 p.m. at the Veteran's Hall 241 Gostlin St. Hammond. Behind the scenes, the youth program is directed by a joint committee from the two Polish groups headed by Walter KASPRYCKI, president. A ten member committee arranges for recreational activities, sees that refreshments are available and generally backs the youth group which meets every Monday night. The Hammond Times Wednesday Novermber 29, 1944 Nurse Weds Navy Man Although Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lauerman 557 Forsythe avenue have not received a detailed account of their daughter Lt Jeanne Marie Lauerman of the army nurse corps and Thomas Lawrence Dillon radioman of the naval air corps in marriage yesterday morning they do know that the young people were united at nuptial high mass in the post chapel at Greensboro NC where the bride is stationed. The bride was graduated from Thornton Fractional high school in the class of 1940 and St. Catherine's School of nursing in 1942. She was employed by the Kuhn Smith & Kuhn clinic before enlisting in February of 1944 and has been stationed at Greensboro since that time. Mr. Dillon was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Dillon of Chicago and was graduated from Mount Caramel high school and worked at the Carnegie steel company. He was in service in Africa and is home on a 30 day leave which he will spend with his bride in South Carolina until reporting to San Francisco on December 15.
