Born in Czechoslovakia, Mrs. JALOVECKY had lived in Whiting 35 years. She is survived by: Husband: Michael Sons: Joseph and Steve Daughter: Mary Services will be held Saturday from the residence to St. John's Catholic Church where the Rev. John Kostik will officiate. Burial in the St. John cemetery, Hammond. Mrs. JALOVECKY was a member of the First Catholic Slovak "Jednota."
The Hammond Times Indiana July 16, 1934 George THOMPSON East Chicago lost one of its oldest citizens through death Saturday when George THOMPSON, age 86, and a veteran of the steel mills, passed away at the family home at 5018 Olcott Avenue. He had lived here since 1892 except for a brief sojourn in Reading, Pennsylvania. Mr. THOMPSON was born in 1848 in Wales and came to this country with the development of the iron and steel industry. He was an early settler in East Chicago 32 years ago when the first mills were being constructed and lived here until a few years ago when he went to Reading. He returned home about three years ago. During his long residence in the Twin City he was an active and much respected citizen. He was a member of the Odd Fellows Lodge and the Amalgamated Association of Iron, Steel and Tin Workers of America. Surviving his death: Sons: William and Harry Daughter: Mrs. L. RICHARDS of East Chicago Five daughters living outside of this city. Fife's Chapel. The body will be shipped to Reading, Pa. where internment will be made.
The Hammond Times Indiana Sept. 1, 1937 Funeral services for Mrs. Alice MORELAND, 43, wife of Shadd MORELAND, popular East Chicago police officer, will be held Friday in the Friendship Baptist Church. Internment will be at the Fern Oak cemetery in Gary. Mrs. MORELAND, who resided with her husband at 4825 McCook Avenue, passed away at St. Catherine's yesterday. Other survivors: Brothers: John and Hubert SMALL. She came to this city 15 years ago.
The Hammond Times Indiana Sept. 1, 1937 Clyde HASKELL Mr. and Mrs. Carl HOFFMAN and Mrs. HOFFMAN'S mother, Mrs. Ida TIFFANY, all of Indianapolis Boulevard, and Mrs. HOFFMAN'S sister, Mrs. Warren GIBBS of Chicago, returned yesterday from Fenton, Michigan, where they attended the funeral of a cousin, Clyde HASKELL, of Toledo, Ohio, who passed away Saturday and was buried in Fenton Monday.

ARCHIBALD of 733 Mulberry Street, Hammond, today received an England dispatch informing her of the death of her mother, Mrs. J. POLSON, 77, in Richmond Surrey, England. Mrs. POLSON is also survived by: Four sons, residing in Scotland Daughter: Mrs. Murdo GRAHAM of Detroit Was to be buried today in northern Scotland, where she was born.
The Hammond Times Indiana Sept. 7, 1937 Ill Three Days Mrs. PROHL Dies Confined to St. Margaret's for three days with a throat ailment, Mrs. Myrtle V. PROHL, 23 of 4314 Grover Street, Hammond, died Sunday. The deceased and her husband, Russell, a graduate of Concordia Seminary, conducted a mission in northern Wisconsin at one time. Mrs. PROHL was born in Chicago and resided in Hammond for the last 14 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran church. Other survivors: Daughter: Louise 2 Parents: Mr. and Mrs. C. He had apparently been in a healthy condition up to the time he was stricken. He will be laid to rest in the St. John cemetery, Hammond, Monday after services are conducted at St. Peter and Paul's church.
