The Vidette-Messenger Indiana April 21, 1937 Observe 25th Wedding Event Mr. and Mrs. LeRoy MILLER of Gary, the latter formerly Edna FEIGHNER of Valparaiso, celebrated their silver wedding anniversary Monday night at a dinner party held at Lundgren's Inn, in Robertsdale. They were married at St. Joseph, Michigan, on April 19, 1912, a year after the "bride" moved to Gary from Valparaiso. Mr. MILLER is part owner of the Alex and Roy barber shop and pool room at 22 West 5th Street, Gary. They have two sons: Earl and Richard MILLER Daughter: Mrs. Carl HUETTNER Jr., all of Gary Mrs. MILLER is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George FEIGHNER, the former deceased. Mr. FEIGHNER was formerly a cigar maker in Valparaiso and represented the First Ward in the City Council before moving to Gary.

    3. The Vidette-Messenger Indiana April 22, 1952 Thomas HEISER, 81, well-known in South Porter county, died Monday in the Porter Memorial hospital, after an illness of serveral months. The decedent came to live on the old Fred HELMBERG farm in 1896 and made his home there until shorty after the death of Frieda HELMBERG in 1946, at which time he came to live in the homes of Ed and Reine KLEINZ of RFD 3, Valparaiso, and with Ardella HAMANN in New Carlisle, Ind.. He was born in Niles, Ill., Jan. 8, 1871, and is survived by two sisters and three brothers, all residing in Chicago. For many years he was a member of the St. Paul Lutheran church in Kouts. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at Kosanke Brothers funeral home, Kouts. Dr. Luther Koepke of the Immanuel Lutheran church, Valparaiso, will officiate. Burial will be in North Judson.

    3. The Hammond Times Indiana March 17, 1937 John HEISER, 70, died today in St. Margaret's hospital from an illness with which he suffered for more than a year. He was born in Lake county and lived in Hammond at 228 Carroll Street. He is survived by: Wife: Anna Sister: Mrs. Matilda SLAYTON of Rockford, Ill. Brother: George of Hammond Funeral services will be held Saturday from the Burn's funeral home to St. Joseph's church with Rt. Rev. Msgr. Francis Jansen officiating. Internment will be at St. Mary's cemetery in Crown Point. HEISER was a member of Unity Council, Knightws of Columbus, Catholic Order of Foresters and the Columbia League of St. Joseph's church.

(Ted) WOZNIAK, 54, 1907 Calumet, operator of a Well Drilling firm for 14 years, suffered a fatal heart seizure Monday while working on a well pump at the Young Bros trucking firm property in Washington Township. Deputy coronor Leonard Wetmore said that WOZNIAK was dead on arrival at the Porter Memorial hospital at noon. Prior to establishing his own business at the Calumet street address, WOZNIAK was employed by the M. E. Prentiss Well company for 23 years. Born in Chicago Oct. 21, 1907, WOZNIAK was the son of Adam and Rose (GARISH) WOZNIAK. On May 30, 1938, he married Nina NIELSEN, who survives. Surving besides the widow: Daughters: Vicki Lee and Sharlene Brothers: Edward of Rock Island, Ill. John of Mill Creek Sister: Mrs. John (Victoria) CUSON of Mill Creek Services Thursday in the church of the Nazarene with Rev. L. E. Myers, officiating. Burial in the Westville cemetery. Wetmore funeral home.

John BERG, at forty hours' devotion there. The stockholders of the St. John creamery held their meeting Saturday , but a final decision to reopen the creamery was not reached. A number of our people attended the funeral of the late George WEHNER of Schererville, who died suddenly at his home Sunday night. Mat HOFFMAN made his first trip today as rural mail carrier on route No.1 of this place. The Catholic order of Foresters of this place held its regular meeting last night in its hall. There seems to be plenty of walnuts along the creek this year. People gather them by the bushel. Mr. and Mrs. Peter KLEIN and Mr. and Mrs. John SCHOLL made a visiting trip to Cedar Lake today. Peter KLEIN our rural mail carrier, is taking his allotted two weeks vacation. He was 80 years old and was preceded in death by his wife Mamie, several years ago. The cause of death was not known. The decedent was born near Baileytown, the son of the late John A. DANIELSON and nephew of the Charles STROM family of Millles? Station. He also spent part of his early days with the late Marvey? CAREY family near Wheeler. The Vidette-Messenger Indiana March 12, 1953 Receives Word Of Death Of Mrs. Louis BURKHART Mrs. Louis (DIBBERN) BURKHART, former Porter county resident, died at the McMinnville, Ore. hospital on Feb. 24, at the age of 93, after an extended illness, according to word received here today by Mrs. E. E. DAY, of this city, a niece of the decedent. According to Mrs. DAY, the BURKHARTS left Valparaiso in 1918 for McMinnville, where the husband Louis, who preceded his wife in death, engaged in farming. Before leaving for the west, the BURKHART farm had been in the Spectacle Lake region, North of Valparaiso. A daughter, Ethel, and a son, Clarence, survive.
