    3. The Hammond Times Indiana August 29, 1935 Henry J. KLEE, 81, who entered the employment of the Straube Piano company in 1896 and was with the firm until his retirement in 1931, died today at his home, 7 Williams street, Hammond. KLEE, known by his many friends for his cheerfulness, had resided in Hammond with his family for 31 years. He was born in Memel, Germany, June 25, 1854, and was a deacon of the East Side Ill. Baptist church. The KLEE'S were married 48 years ago next Oct. 18. He is survived by: Wife: Emma Daughter: Mrs. Frieda CLARK of Chicago Sons: Max, Arthur and Lester of Hammond Henry of Calumet City Services Saturday from the Neidow funeral chapel and burial in the Oak Hill cemetery.

    3. The Hammond Times Indiana Nov. 3, 1926 Funeral services for Mrs. Gertrude LENNERTZ, 4924? Magoun Avenue, East Chicago, who was killed in a train-auto accident at the B. & O. crossing on Forsythe Avenue, Sunday, was held this morning in St. Mary's church. Internment was made at the Calvary cemetery, Gary. She was 43 years old. Survivors: Parents: Mr. and Mrs. William MEISEL of Hammond Husband: Nick Son: Frederick Two brothers and a sister. Mrs. LENNERTZ'S daughter, Mrs. Louise MAHONEY, 27 years old, of 601 Kentucky Avenue, Gary, was killed in the same accident. Services were held for her in Gary this morning. Two other occupants of the illfated auto, Robert CARNEY, 57 years old, also of 601 Kentucky Avenue, Gary, and his son Leonard, 18, were seriously injured in the accident and are now lying in the Gary Mercy hospital. Mrs. MAHONEY'S four year old son miraculously escaped injury when his mother clasped him in her arms and protected him from the wreckage which took her life. The accident occurred Sunday morning. Leonard CARNEY, driving the Oakland touring car in which the family were returning from a Halloween celebration in South Chicago, drove into the path of an eastbound Wabash passenger train when the watchman, failed to lower the gates in time. The machine was carried about 75 yards down the track on the pilot of the engine. When members of the East Chicago police and fire departments reached the demolished machine, Mrs. LENNERTZ and Mrs. MAHONEY were unconscious. They both died a few minutes later.

Very useful data, Cheri, even though Gilbert Lauerman and Emma Homeier had no children; there is another Homeier family of Crown Point that you might check on (Fred and Dorethea), as there is possibly a William Homeier in that family as well as in Henry F. Homeier family, born almost the same year; there is also a William F. Homeier in Maplewood Cem. in Crown Point (1844-1932) with a wife Clara (1846-1920); it is possible all those families are related... Love, Paul

    3. The Vidette-Messenger Indiana July 27, 1931 Marcus BREIHOLZ, aged 85 years, was found dead in bed this morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. DaLee? GARDNER in Gary, with whom he had been making his home. Mr. BREIHOLZ had suffered from heart trouble for several years but at no time had been bedfast. He had seemingly been enjoying good health for one of his years and his death came as a great shock to the family. The deceased was born in Germany July 6, 1846. When 21 years of age, he came to this country settling in Davenport, Iowa. He was married to Margaret CLAUSSEN at Davenport in March, 56 years ago. Several years later they came to Valparaiso to live. To this union 6 children were born, two died in infancy and another daughter died in 1913. Mrs. BREIHOLZ preceded her husband in death about two and one half years ago. Three children survive: Mrs. DaLee GARDNER John BREIHOLZ of Gary Mrs. Emil KUEHL of rural route 1, Valparaiso Mrs. Louis KULL of this city is a niece of the decendent. Practically all of Mr. BREIHOLZ's life had been engaged in following the mason trade and farming. For the past 35 years he had resided on West street. He was a member of the Lutheran church and N. A. U. Lodge. Services Wednesday from the F. A. PePell and Son funeral home. Rev. George Schutes of the Immanuel Lutheran church will be in charge. Internment in the Graceland cemetery.

    3. The Vidette-Messenger Indiana June 13, 1936 Mrs. Anna C. BREIHOLZ, age 83 years, a former resident of Valparaiso, died Friday at her home, 1142 Broadway, South Bend, following a two month illness. She was born in Holstein, Germany on August 31, 1852, and came to Valparaiso from Cleveland twenty years ago. Eight years ago she moved to South Bend. Survivors: Son: Chris BREIHOLZ, at home. The body will lie in state at the residence in South Bend Saturday until Monday, when memorial services will be held. Later the body will be brought to the LePell and Son funeral home in Valparaiso, where services will be conducted Monday with Rev. E. E. Schroeder, pastor of the Ridgedale Presbyterian church South Bend, officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland cemetery.

His death occurred two hours after entering the hospital. Survivors: Widow: Cornelia KING BREIHOLZ Sister: Mrs. Ida B. GARDNER of Gary Services Tuesday at the Williams and Burns chapel in Gary, burial in the Ridgelawn cemetery.

The Vidette-Messenger Indiana Jan. 31, 1950 Services for Chris BREIHOLZ, 72, former Valparaiso resident who died Monday in South Bend, will be held Wednesday from the Welcheimer funeral home, South Bend. The decedant succumbed Monday morning at his South Bend residence after a two week illness. He moved from here to South Bend about 25 years ago. Elmer C. LEMSTER and Charles LEMSTER of Valparaiso are cousins of BREIHOLZ and Ben LEMSTER of Gary is another cousin. After services in South Bend, the body will be brought here for burial in the Graceland cemetery.

The entire family was buried at Chapel Lawn in adjoining graves, as I recall...I suppose there was a desire to avoid perpetuating the painful situation by separating the family, since in a way all were victims of whatever induced Jeffrey's rampage.
