What cemetery would people be buried in in they lived in the Glen Park area of Gary and went to St. Joseph's Catholic Church? Ross Centanne had a greenhouse on Broadway near Massachusetts and died in 1952. I am wondering where he would have been buried? This is my husband's grandfather. Thanks! Hello, Has this cemetery been transcribed? I am looking for Ernest KING and his wife, Marguerita. Originally, the name was GIESEKING but today I think I found him and his wife in the 1930 Gary City, Calumet Township census. I'm interested in Ridgelawn because many years ago a cousin told me she thought our uncle was buried there. Any help/direction would be appreciated. Ernestine Wark, NJ
I don't have that particular Cemetery Book. But I did find a GIESEKING, Samuel husband 1886 - 1936 in the Oak Hill Cemetery in Hammond. cheryl BALOG wenberg ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ernestine Wark" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 22, 2002 4:49 PM Subject: [INLAKE] Ridgelawn Cemetery > > Hello, > > Has this cemetery been transcribed? I have posted several times to the Indiana list and no one has responded. Am I not on the list anymore or why is the list so quite? I asked for help for a look up. I use to get lot of help from the Indiana list. I need answers and help with some Indiana ancestors. Isn't there anyone on this list anymore. I know of a few kind people who have helped me recently. A lot in the past have helped me also. But recently I have gotten no response from anyone. Can someone please explain why? God Bless Pam
Who can I find to do a look up? I need a look up on a Phyllis McCALLUM. All you can find, since I don't know anything about her except she was married to a Robert MOFFETT / MOFFATT. His mother is Mary and father is Jim McCALLUM. It is believed he took on the last name of his step father since he mainly raised him. It is believe that Phyllis married in Hammond Indiana around 1947.. Place and date could be wrong but they were definitely married in Indiana. God Bless Pam
I am searching for a Nathan Oliver SMITH and his parents with siblings who was born in Delaware, Delaware Cty. Ohio on 8 April 1882. I know alittle about him, that he married a Synthia M. Donalson born on 8 July 1882. They married 22 Aug ? in Delaware, Delaware Cty. Ohio. She gave birth to a son Nathan Ewing SMITH 26 Oct 1909. She also gave birth later to a Mariah O. SMITH on 31 May 1917 but she died that same day only living hours. Synthia also died 6 days later, probably due to birth complications. Nathan must have moved to either Michigan or Indiana because he married a Daisy Mae McCALLUM (maiden name BROWN). Daisy was born in Michigan but had move to Indiana at some point. I kinda think it was Indiana that Nathan moved to. Anyway Nathan and Daisy married and later divorced, although Daisy was against it. Nathan must have moved to Alabama because that is where he died on 8 May 1855 in Montgomery, Baldwin Cty. Alabama. Can anyone related to this Nathan Oliver SMITH? God Bless Pam
I just received a Naturalization Record for Manuel Garcia Menendez my husband's father. These people lived in Lake Co IN most of their lives. There are many descrepancies on it including date of arrival. He was a minor when he came here to America from Spain. I am looking for his father Jose GARCIA GARCIA and his mother Josefina Teresa ALVAREZ MENENDEZ. Because of the way Spanish use last names, it makes it difficult to find their naturalization records. In America, the child's name should have been GARCIA not MENENDEZ. I was suprised to find it under MENENDEZ. Dates of Arrival descrepancy: April 12, 1918 on Petition for Naturalization April 12, 1918 on Certificate of Arrival April 12-14 1914 on a Handwritten note left in our possession by Manual Garcia before he died in 1983. ONLY Common agreeing thing between NOTE and NATURALIZATION papers is the the ship was the SS Baltic. I am looking in your county for Naturalization Records for Manuel GARCIA MENENDEZ' parents Jose GARCIA GARCIA (in English Jose or Joseph) and Josefina Teresa ALVAREZ MENENDEZ (in English could be Josephine ALVAREZ, Josephine MENENDEZ, or more likely Josephine GARCIA) with only the above dates of arrival and the following information.
