Hello Is there an historical or genealogical society in Lake County/Indiana Harbor that would like some old pictures taken in 1920s in Indiana Harbor? Some of these photos have the name Dorozinski written on them. Richard G. Boyd Rogers City, Michigan
Hello I have more than a dozen photos taken at Buchstaber's Studio, M. Chudom, prop., at 3452 Guthrie Street, Indiana Harbor, Indiana. Some are identified and some are not. There are some graduation pictures of Amelia Dorozinski dated Sept 9, 1923. There is a graduation picture dated 1935, but not identified. There is a Helen, Julia and a Cleopatra Dorozinski. I bought these photos at an antique shop in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. I'd like to get these pictures back to a descendant at my cost ($10.00) See some of these photos at: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~confido/dorozinski.html Richard G. I hope this is a connection. I will start with my father: My Father: Robert Wade TURNER b. 6 Dec 1936 in McHenry, Ohio County Kentucky d. 7 Jan 1987 in Alabama. He married my mother MaryEllen SKINNER. His father & my grandfather: James McKinley TURNER b. 28 Nov 1902 in McHenry, Ohio County Kentucky d. 3 April 1976 in Hartford, Ohio County Kentucky. He married Leona MOORE 7 May 1924. His father and my g grandfather: F. E. TURNER ( I am assuming his first name is Fielding since it ran in the family. He had gone by the name Galen/Galin/Galey all of his life. We did not know until I received his death certificate that that was not his real name) b. Death certificate says 22 May 1858 but he would not have been the right age stated in the newspaper article & on his death certificate, age 63 at death. So there is a mistake there. Plus on all of the Census it states his birth month was Oct. 1867-1868. I believe the year to be 1868. He married an Elizabeth HAZEL on 23 Dec 1892 in Spencer, Indiana. She went by the name of Antha or Anthy and did not know until I received the death certificate that her real name was Elizabeth. Their real names are not even on the grave stones. His father and my g g grandfather: Rubin TURNER b. abt 1846 who married Amy Ann HEAVERIN b. abt 1845. Married 13 Feb 1865 in Warren County Kentucky. On F. E. TURNER death certificate it list these names for his parents and the spelling for him was as I spelled it and had Amy was listed as Annie HEAVERIN. His father and my g g g grandfather: Fielding TURNER b. abt 1823-1824 in Warren County, Kentucky. He married a Lucinda SCHROADER His father and my g g g g grandfather: Ruben TURNER b. abt.1792 who married Elizabeth LYKINS. A marriage bond was for 31 Jan 1814 in Warren County, Kentucky. Beyond that I do not have. I piece a lot of this together with a lot of help online. All I need to do is send off for documents for proof. If you have any I would be willing to share what I have. I even have a picture of F. E. TURNER (Galen). I have information on the children of my grandfather and g grandfather. A lot more has to be searched. I find it hard to do so as I never really knew my father because they divorced and he did not stay in contact. When I finally located his where abouts I found out he died at the age of 50. Since then I have locate family members and have been piecing it all together. How ever know one knew anything about my grandfathers side, not even a name. So it a slow go. I hope this information can link us to someone and I will share what we have. God Bless Pam
