Is there anyone that can do a look-up for me in the cemeteries in the Gary area? thanks Twanda
Can someone give me the site for the cemeteries in the Gary Indiana Locale? Thanks Twanda
Regarding cemeteries near Lake Station, you might try Calvary, it's near there (or in there?). I have several relatives buried there.

Had a mini-break thru on my Lake Co. Indiana families. No one ever responds on this line but here goes: >Loren S. Stowell aged four, appears in the household of John and Rachel >Reed of Eagle Creek Township, Lake County, in the 1860 census, indicating >that his mother had died and that he had been placed with them. They were >probably relatives of Loren Lorenzo's first wife, Mary Matilda Reed. It >appears that John Reed died in the next decade, for Loren Stewart Stowell >appears in the 1870 census as Stewart Reed, aged 14, living with his >foster mother, Rachel Reed, who in turn was living with James and Emily >Fuller in Cedar Creek Township. They were probably relatives of hers. This James FULLER is James R. FULLER b. bet 1819-1821 Vinton Co. Ohio d. ca 1884 m. Emily LAFFLER. Emily has a sister Caroline LAFFLER who marries a Malcolm HILL. He is the son of James FULLER m. Lydia Herrick DODGE one of the prominent early families in Lake Co. history. I descend from James R. FULLER's elder brother Oliver FULLER who married a Sarah H. REED. Sarah had an elder sister named Nancy REED who married Oliver's father James late in life and had no issue with him. Oliver FULLER & Sarah REED had a daughter Mary Ellen FULLER who married Marcus Lafayette STOWELL s/o Loren Lorenzo STOWELL & Mary Matilda REED. If anyone know anything about these families, especially how to fit all these REEDs together, I sure would love to hear from you. I have the FULLER line way back to the Immigrant generation back in colonial Norfolk Co. Massachusetts. The following Lake Co. Indiana connected REEDs appear related somehow: John REED d. bet 1860-1870 m. Rachel unknown Mary Matilda REED b. (husband was b. 1795) d.1842 m. Loren Lorenzo STOWELL <<maybe connected to a Talcott REED of Sherman Twp. Huron Co. Ohio?!?> Sarah H. REED 1817-1874 m. Oliver FULLER <census says born in Pennsylvania, they married 1835 Athens Co.Ohio> Nancy REED m. James FULLER <his first wife was Lydia Herrick DODGE of Hancock Co. Maine> <Nancy REED the elder sister of Sarah H. REED, James FULLER here father of Oliver above> If you know any of these families love to hear from you, james wall

Hi, I am looking for information on the descendants of Melvin and Verna (STRONG) GUERNSEY. Melvin GUERNSEY was b. 11 Oct 1891, d. Nov. 1977 in Lake County, IN. married 17 Aug. 1910 in Lake County, Indiana to Verna STRONG, daughter of Thomas and Phoebe (HOLLISTER) STRONG. Verna was b.15 Dec. 1892, d. Aug. 1891. Melvin and Verna were living in Lake County at the time of the 1920 and 1930 census, and likely lived there until Melvin died. They had two sons: 1. Ira GUERNSEY b. 7 Nov 1912 2. Wayne GUERNSEY b. 15 Nov 1915 Who did Ira and Wayne marry? Did they have children? I would be interested in finding and sharing information with someone who has done research on this family. I am happy to share my research as well. I have a lot of ancestral data on Verna's family. Thank-you for any help you are able to give! Karla [email protected]
