Of many LIBEY families that follow, I have more info than I have listed and will gladly share and am interested in any info I can obtain (descending or ascending) -- particularly in info on the William and Elizabeth ? LIBEY family. They had several children in Richland County during 1830s/1840s. According to family history (I have all spouses/offspring for many generations), William was born in PA in 1816 (Cumberland Co? or Perry?) and died in DeKalb Co., IN in 1849. William and Elizabeth had the following children: Margaret (Peggy) LIBEY b: 1835 OH; George E. LIBEY b: 1838, Richland Co., OH; David D. LIBEY b: 1840, Richland Co., OH; Mary Ann LIBEY b: 1842 Richland Co., OH; Jacob Ora LIBEY b: 1844 Richland Co., OH; Rachel LIBEY b: 1846 Richland Co., OH; and Elizabeth LIBEY b: 1849 DeKalb Co., IN. William may have been a son of John and Polly FOHT LIBEY (and John may be a son of George and Eve Dunkel Libey). Info on some of John and Polly's children follows: Catherine LIBEY b: 1818 PA married Philip SHAMBOUGH in Richland Co, OH in 1841; Susan LIBEY b: 1820 PA married Daniel BURROUGHS in Williams Co, OH in 1843; John Frederich LIBEY married Elizabeth RICHEY in Williams Co, OH in 1843; Simon LIBEY b: 1828 PA; Benjamin LIBEY b: 1830 PA married Lucy Ferguson in Lenawee Co., MI in 1853; Lucy Ann LIBEY b: 1832 PA married John LOSEY in Lenawee Co., MI in 1853; and Sarah LIBEY b: 1838 OH (Richland Co, OH ?) married Howland Ferguson in Lenawee Co., MI in 1854. Not listed is Margaret LIBEY who married George LIBEY in PA - they moved to MI , near her relatives, in the 1850s (also have much info on their offspring....). Another (probably related) LIBEY (extended) family can be found travelling in the same counties at the same times. George LIBEY b: 1786 in PA married Margretta ? b: 1792. John L. and Catherine Blocker LIBEY are found in Brady Twp, Williams Co, OH in the 1850 census with the following children - Sarah b: ABT1839, George b: ABT1842, Jonas b: ABT1844, John b: ABT1846, and Catherine b: ABT1852. Margaret E. LIBEY married George ROCKWELL in Richland Co., OH in 1836. They are found in Brady Twp, Williams Co, OH in the 1850 census with the following children - Malissa b: ABT1837, Frederick b: ABT 1839, and Oscar b: ABT 1847. Jacob S. LIBEY married Elizabeth BLOCKER in Richland Co., OH in 1838. He is found with new wife Anna ROCKWELL (married in 1846 in Williams Co, OH) in Madison Twp, Williams Co, OH in the 1850 census with the following children - Jacob (Elizabeth's child) , Samuel (Elizabeth's child), Mary (Elizabeth's child), Leroy b: ABT1849, and Laroy b: ABT1849. Jacob and Anna ROCKWELL LIBEY also has William LIBEY b: ABT 1853 and Melissa LIBEY b: ABT1864. After Anna's death, Jacob married yet again. Isabelle LIBEY married James LAUGHLIN in Williams Co, OH in 1847. They are found in Brady Twp, Williams Co, OH in the 1850 census with the following children - Almedia b: ABT1848 and George b: ABT1849/50.
