Jackson, eighty-two years of age, for fifty-six years a resident of LaGrange county, died at the home of her son, Frank I. Jackson, near Valentine,at eight o'clock on Friday morning of last week. Mrs. Jackson fell and fractured her hip at the home of her daughter, Mrs.Jack Shannon, at Wolcottville the latter part of May,and since then had been failing steadily. Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at the home of her son,and burial was made in Greenwood cemetery. Rev. H.R. Carson, pastor of the LaGrange Methodist Episcopal Church, officiated. Mrs.Jackson was born near Adrian,Michigan,on March 26, 1844,the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Levi Moyer.The family moved from their Michigan home to Delaware,Ohio and later, after the death of her mother,the daughter came to Columbus, Indiana, and made her home with her brother. She was married on June 18,1861 to William H. Jackson,at Columbus,and shortly afterward her husband answered the call to the colors and enlisted in the Union army.After the war the family moved to Auburn,Indiana and about 1870 moved to LaGrange county. Mr.Jackson passed away February 25,1910 and Mrs.Jackson came to LaGrange to live for a number of years. Seven children were born in the home, six of whom are still living.They are William C. of LaGrange,Mrs.Anna M. Shannon of Wolcottville,Mrs.Clara L. Hoffman of Cleveland, Ohio,Mrs.Florence E. Hinkley of Muncie,Ind.,Mrs.Cora B. McCormick of Wolcottville,George A.Jackson who died in 1901, and Frank I.Jackson. In addition to her children,Mrs.Jackson is survived by a sister,Mrs.Nellie Gager of Huntington,and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. The entire community unites with her children and relatives in a common sorrow at the passing of this worthy woman. ,
