>From The Pierceton Record: Volume XXI, Number 15, Pierceton, Ind., Thursday, Feb. 2, 1899, page 4, column 3: RUFUS VANTASSEL: Tuesday night at about 10 o'clock at his home in this place occurred the deathof Rufus Vantassel. For several years Mr. Vantassel has been afflicted with a number of diseases incident to old age. He was a man about 70 years of age, and was a resident of this place about 15 years. Funeral will be held at the house today at ten o'clock conducted by Rev. Brown. Hope this helps.
