The 1860 census has Rachel Summey, age 77, born NC in Prairie Twp, dwelling 1191. The household is headed by Malinda Summey, age 49, and includes Rebecca 16, and William 17. Rachel has no real property, but Malinda has $1500, and Rebecca and William $1000 each. Next door (dwelling 1190) is a Lanson Summey, age 24 with $1000 property, wife Mary 23 and son Melvin 1. Malinda was born OH, and everyone else (except Rachel) was born in IN. Lanson is a farmer, but no occupations are given for the others. This is from the 1860 IN census CD records by Broderbund.
