Kosciusko Co. researchers & friends: I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I received a phone call early this morning from Cynthia Scheuer to tell me that Larry (her husband) was killed instantly in an auto accident yesterday (Christmas day) afternoon. They own a lock shop and he and his 16 year old daughter had gone up to Milford on a lock call and were coming back to the family Christmas party when it happened. The newspaper account this morning and her phone call last night are not reporting the same thing, but I believe that the daughter was driving the car and went off the right side of the highway, overcorrected, went off the left side of the highway, overcorrected again and then collided with a culvert. The daughter is in the local hospital in ICU, with serious injuries as well. Will record a full obit in this column - Monday. Today's newspaper only reported the accident. As you may remember, the local Genealogy Section had just awarded the Scheuers the annual award GENEALOGIST OF THE YEAR - for their census transcription & indexing work and they were also the "team" who had indexed the Kos. Co. wills and gave permission to Mr. Andert, web page co-ordinator to place that index on the web page. That generous act created considerable interest in our web page and had been quite helpful to researchers. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Cynthia and the families during this difficult time. (If you care to send a card - their address is......... family of Larry & Cynthia Scheuer, 722 East Center Street, Warsaw, IN 46580 respectfully submitted, marge priser
