Just a thought... For those of you who have expressed enjoyment of the newspaper articles that I have put on the web page, you might be interested in a publication that has been on the Genealogy Section publication list for a long time. CENTENNIAL SCRAPBOOK is a 182 page fully name-indexed book published by the Section. In 1954 Warsaw celebrated the 100 year anniversary of the incorporation of the city called the Lakeland Festival Centennial. The Warsaw Times Union published a HUGE 14 section edition on July 6, 1954. There were dozens of articles about all aspects of history of the COUNTY... not just Warsaw. George Nye and Marion Coplen, historians of the time wrote some of the articles. There were articles about many of the industries and lots of pictures. I cut two copies of this newspaper edition up and pasted them up in scrapbook fashion and titled it Centennial Scrapbook. There was much advertising, but I wasn't able to include that. With the help of Martha Scantlen, former library assistant at the jail museum, we put together a name index for it. You may purchase a copy or ask Santa for a copy... by going to the Genealogy Section web page and printing off the order blank. The price is $17.00 plus postage (USPS Priority) at $3.20 ...TOTAL $20.20 Using PRIORITY mailing will get it back to you hopefully by Christmas ... if we have the order by Dec. 18th. There is a link on the GENWEB page to the Genealogy Section book list & order blank. ...any questions... e-mail me [email protected] http://freepages.history.rootsweb.com/~kosco
