The convergence of the names Lightfoot, Kelley, Summey, Groves & Stinson is not coincidence, the way I read the histories in the Kosciusko Co. books. But more research needs to be done on ancestors of Hester Kelley, wife of William Lightfoot & mother of Mary Lightfoot who m. Lanson Summey. The family sheet I received from Helen Lightfoot Treesh in Feb 1998 was prepared at an unknown date by: Jeane Hostetler (formerly of Pierceton, IN), 815 N. Highland, Indianapolis, IN 46202 (Joan Hostetler in current phone book at this address; phone 639-2814). It lists the wife of William Lightfoot (?-1852 MO) as Hester Kelley (1812 OH-1852 MO) & says she was the dtr of William Kelley & Sophia (scratched out & Sultana Summey handwritten above). Sources cited are the Summey family history and Census of Lee Co., Iowa, Dist. 29, page 482, Oct 24, 1850. Jennifer on 3-16-99 said Hester's brother William was married to Sultana Summey. But there's a third opinion to be considered also. Page 174, Kosciusko County 1836-1986 has two writeups on the Kelley family. One submitted by Myrtle Anglin, Warsaw, IN & the other by Virgil A. McCleary, Warsaw, IN: William Kelley Sr. 1792 VA-1849 IN m-1 in OH bef 1823 to Rebecca (1796-1839) and m-2 in 1847 to Mrs. Sophia Myrick. Eight known children w/ Rebecca: 1. Hester, m. William Lightfoot 2. John 3. Samuel A., 1822 OH; m-1. Mary Ann McLoughan; m-2 Elisabeth Crouch, d/o James & Malilda (Groves) Crouch 4. Ann, m. Thomas W. Elliott 5. Mary Ann 6. Henry P., m-1. Sultana Summey (?-1860); m-2. ? 7. William Jr. 8. Jane, m. Alexander D. Pittenger. Pg 195 of the same book says William & Hester (Kelley) Lightfoot's dtr Mary m. Lanson Summey.
