Sorry...in my rush to get back to studying for midterms, I wasn't paying much attention to what I was writing. I should have been clearer and said that Elizabeth Crouch (married Samuel Kelly) was the daughter of Malinda Groves (sister of Daniel Groves) and granddaughter of Elizabeth Stinson. As for Malinda being married to Horatio Shaw....I haven't not come across that, and as far as I can tell neither has my mother (who was working on this family before I was). Of course all that means is perhaps we haven't done enough searching. I do know that Malinda's husband James did not die until 1857, so unless there was a divorce it seems unlikely that she married Horatio after James. James and Malinda's first child was born in 1823 and their last child was born 1847. From this information I don't see how Malinda could have also been married to Horatio at any time. As far as I know, no one has found much information on her father William. Perhaps William went to IN with brothers, one of whom had a daughter Matilda, who married Horatio. I also should have been clearer with the info on the Kelly's. I have William Sr. married to 1)Rebecca (Sapp?) & 2) Sophronia Myrick (another interesting connection here...the marriage books have a Groves married to a Myrick as well). William Sr. and Rebecca were the parents of Hester (who started off this discussion), John, Ann, Samuel (my ancestor), Mary Ann, Henry, William Jr. and Jane. Henry is the one who married Sultana (William Sr. died in 1849 and according to the Koscuisko Co Marriage Book 3 pg 317 Henry and Sultana were married in 1853). Unfortunately this marriage book says that Sultana's last name was Streana (though in other records that I now can't find the citations to it was listed as Summey). And now...looking through the pages I copied from the Kosciusko Co marriage books and checking them agains the copies on the web...I see that Sultana Summey married McKee Strane 13 March 1851 Book 3 pg 157. Sorry to open a new can of worms.... I think the important this here is that the Kelly, Summy, Lightfoot, Groves, Stinson and Crouch familys were connected. I'm having a problem tracing past William Kelly Sr., William Groves and Joseph Crouch. The Lightfoots and Summy's aren't actually my line, but I thought finding where connecting familys were from might shed light on where my line is from.
