If they aren't kin isn't it ironic that in that sparsely populated farm land (by the way, it is beautiful up there in Kosciusko Co.) you would have two Ellis families living near each other. My John F. was born in either NY or Ohio. Can't find him in 1850 but the 1860 census says NY and the 1870 says Ohio. I did see on a record where Ezra was born in PA but thought the NY Ellis family could have passed thru PA when he was born on their way to Ohio and Indiana. Guess not but maybe they are cousins?
