The 1850 census lists the following children: Funck, Polly; age 23; female; b. OH Funck, Elizabeth; age 20; female; b. OH Funck, Joseph; age 19; male; b. OH Funck, Isaac; age 17; male; farmer; b. OH Funck, David; age 15; male; farmer; b. OH Funck, Deena; age 12; female; b. OH Funck, Samuel; age 8; male; b. OH There is also a George Funk living next door and a Jacob B. Funk next door to George. Susanna Funk, who married Josiah Hildebrand, is listed as his daughter on some sites and her mother as Catherine Bossler, but Jacob married Catherine Bossler in 1823 and Susanna was born in 1822. There is another marriage listed in Stark Co., OH (where Jacob married Catherine Bossler), for a Jacob Funk marrying Catherine Palmer in 1816. But George would have been born around 1811. Who was Jacob's first wife and where were they married? George was born in OH. There are so many Jacob Funk's that I can't seem to find mine. Jacob died 1853 in Kosciusko Co., IN. Jacob's parents have been listed as Martin Funk and Magdalena Bechtel, but I can't find any proof of this. Does anyone have any information on this Jacob??? Who were his parents and siblings??

    1. [INKOSCIU] OBIT database 1890-1894 also 1896
    2. Marjorie Priser
    3. Hello List, Please read this e-mail, carefully for instructions: I am currently (June, 2003) working on a database of newspaper obits & death notices for the 1890's. I have MOST of 1890, 91, 92, 93 and 1894 done. I am working from the INDIANIAN REPUBLICAN (Warsaw based newspaper). When I say "MOST", I mean that I still have to check the database against the microfilm of the paper. Unfortunately the actual newspapers (bound volumes) went though the courthouse fire back in the 1980's and the two outside (left &right) columns were burned off. I will gather the obits that were printed in those two columns (if there are any) from the microfilm soon. I also don't have newspapers for the LAST HALF of 1892. Most of the deaths occurred in Kos. Co., but there are some that were reported from other counties & other states. In some cases the report is called a "death notice" (DN), meaning the death was reported, but there are no specific details. Here's the deal. IF you think that you have someone in your research who MIGHT have died during that time-frame, send me an e-mail with the NAME ONLY. (You may send more than one name at a time, but please limit to 5 per e-mail.) I will check for them against the alphabetical list that I have made and IF I find your wanted name on the list, I will reply back to you WITH the newspaper DATE & PAGE NO. You can then, if you desire request an copy of the obit from TINA BUCHMAN, our research assistant (buchmangen@insightbb.com ) . Copies of obits are $3.00 postpaid. Give her the DATE & page of the newspaper that the obit. She will send you instructions regarding address & payment. If your person's information is designated as a "death notice" (DN) the information will be e-mailed to you at no charge. I am currently working on 1896, so I can watch for your wanted name during that year, as well. AS SOON as I get 1896 completed, and get the other years completed from the microfilm, (outside columns & 1895) I will be submitting the completed database to Kosciusko county GenWeb coordinator, Gene Andert to be included under OBITUARIES on our GenWeb page. Just thought those on the list might like to have a search made before it is completed. There are two more Hibsman children listed with another family (Charles and Elizabeth Warner on p 242)- they are Franklin, age 11 and Henrietta, age 14. I wonder if their parents died... :-)

There are more Teegarden names listed All of my Eckert family is buried there in this cemetery and related names. Now, Lorenzo Eckert was married Martha (Mattie) Hibschman. John and Rebecca Hibschman were her parents. Rebecca's maiden name was Owen. Another child of theirs, Lucy, married James Goodman, an Eckert descendant. Want more info on Hibschman family?

One of the McFall girls was a Catherine and married a Linn. He died and she married James Wooden. There might have been an Eckert sister to John Hancock Eckert (Sullivan's father) by the name of Catherine (the name Catherine runs in the Eckert family). If I am guessing right on the parentage of JH Eckert, there were still at least young sisters still at home in 1820 in Fairfield County OH. Perhaps one of them was a Catherine who married a Linn. And there very well might have been a Catherine Mosier. I know some of that family went with Sullivan Eckert to Hancock County Ohio and possibly to Indiana. And you are right that she may have been a close family friend of the family. However, the obit was with family papers but I guess that doesn't mean much. I will do some checking to see what I can find. Mary
