    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mh.2ADI/499.1.1 Message Board Post: I did not see a link in my records of Ezra Ellis to your William H. Ellis, but there may be one I dont know. My Ezra Ellis was born 12 Nov 1822 in Catawissa Co, PA to a Quaker family, son of William C. Ellis and Mary Hayhurst. I have listed that he had three sisters (Margaret b. 1821, Ann b. 1825, Matilda b. 1828), but no brothers. They moved to Indiana from Pennsylvania around 1853 and then to Lincoln Co, KS in 1874. Ezra died in Lincoln Co in 1896. I don't see any links between my Ezra and your John, but it may be worthwhile checking out Catawissa, PA.

Surnames: Ellis, Anderson, Welch, Stacy Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/mh.2ADI/499.1 Message Board Post: I recently took a geneology trip to Kosciusko Co., Indiana to look for info on my long lost ancestor, John F. Ellis and found your Ezra living by him in Harrison Twp. I went out to a cemetary, Wooden Cemetary, where several Ellises were buried but didn't see Ezra. In looking up records I found Ezra Ellis as a recognizer to a murder suspect in 1868. Also found him in the 1866 enumeration for Harrison Twp-E.H. Ellis age 45, John (mine) age 52, and William H. age 21. Would love any info about your Ezra which might help me find more about my ancestor John F. Ellis and who his parents might have been.

Surnames: Teeple Deardorff Hoover Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mh.2ADI/618.2 Message Board Post: Both Peter and Christopher Teeple came from Stark County Ohio to Kosciusko County Indiana. Peter first in the late 1830's, then his twin brother christopher came in the early 1840's. Christopher married Sarah Deardorff from neighboring Tuscarawas (sp?) County. I believe Peter Teeple or his sons bought land patented by Mr. Hoover and still farm it today (but I haven't researched this fully.) Peter Teeple is my ggg-grandfather. His original land patent says Starke (sic) County Ohio. The Land clerk in La Porte spelled it like the Indiana county. Peter's father, Isaac Teeple of Washington County, PA, patented land in Stark County OH in 1826. The Deardorff (Christian, I believe) patented land in Kosciusko, County, OH. Paul

    1. Re: [INKOSCIU] Marriage Applications Question
    2. unicorn1945
    3. MY experience is that it's better to pay for and get a marriage application (if there is one) rather than the license. It holds much more information and if you tell the clerks what information you're looking for, they'll usually send it and charge only IF it contains what you're after. At least that's my experience in Delaware County, IN. Try that and see. 1. Re: [INKOSCIU] Marriage Applications Question
    2. Doug Mayer
    3. Marriage records issued prior to 1882 will not contain information about the parents. In 1882 the State of Indiana created a position in each county for an official Health Officer. Applications for Marriage were created and kept by that officer until its demise in 1948. Also, starting in about 1905 the County Clerk began collecting application information which was more detailed than that of the County Health Officer. Since the marriage of Neff to Stobaugh occurred in 1893 the only marriage application information available will be from the Health Officer records which are located in the Research Library of the Kosciusko County Historical Society. Susie Stobaugh's parents are Jacob & Elizabeth (Herod) Stobaugh. Charles Bert Neff's parents were Emanuel & ? (Welter) Neff. To obtain a copy of this application, please contact Tina Buchman, the official research assistant for the Genealogy Section of the Kosciusko County Historical Society. Good luck in your searching.
