They were married in Tuscarawas Co., OH on 23 Sep 1824, where John was born. George was listed as a "Dunkard" minister in the 1850 census but subsequently moved to Lake Co., OH where he died in 1855. John married the Sarah Jane Taylor in Lake Co and then moved with his brother Abraham (my great-grandfather) to Kosciusko. John then spent much of his life in MN where Jane died in the 1870's. John's son Erwin came to live with my great-grandparents after Jane died and the two youngest daughters were adopted or fostered by two other sisters of John.

Last May, we went to Logan Co., OH and found that our Thomas's name was really Cornelius Thomas. He did have a brother Robert who married a Sarah. In 1875 those two and other siblings signed a deed selling their father Anderson's "farm" for 140. At that time Thomas was from Hardin Co. I'd have to look again to see where Robert was living at the time. Is that about right agewise? Angie

    2. Marjorie Priser
    3. The Genealogy Section of the Kosciusko County Historical Society held their annual dinner at the Boathouse Restaurant last Wednesday evening. There were 20 persons present, who all enjoyed their choice of meals and the speaker of the evening, Marge Graham of Fort Wayne. We are pleased to announce that Sally Nichols is the Genealogist of the Year for 2003. She accepted the award from Connie Black who was Genealogist of the year last year. Sally has been very loyal and faithful as a library attendant (and of the museum, as well) for several years. She is currently Vice-Chairperson for the Section, a position she has held for a couple of years. Congratulations Sally!

Surnames: Funk Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/mh.2ADI/617.1.1.1.1 Message Board Post: I do have a little on Jacob and Catherine's children, but not a whole lot. It's just what I have been able to pick up from the census'. I believe Jacob Sr. was married at least 3 times. First, to the mother of Jacob Jr. Then I believe he was married to Catherine Palmer, then Catherine Bossler. I am descended through Jacob Sr.'s daughter Susannah. What I have found is that she is listed as the daughter of Catherine Bossler, but Jacob and Catherine Bossler were not married until 1823 and Susannah was born in Feb of 1822. There was a marriage in the Ohio marriage index for Jacob Funk marrying Catherine Palmer 29 Mar 1816. She would probably be the mother of Susannah. As for Jacob Sr.'s father, it's possibly Martin Funk, but I'm still trying to find links on this. It's also possible that Jacob Sr. had a brother or uncle named Henry. This family has been pretty hard!! I have information on Susanna's family.
