    1. [INKOSCIU] eboards-something different
    2. Marjorie Priser
    3. Tangent subject: Several months ago, I saw mention of an"e-Board" on one of my craft mail lists. I investigated, and at that time started one -just for fun. The home page is www.eboard.com It is the alternative to building a web site. "Your own 'virtual corkboard' where you can post messages, photos and links online in seconds. With an eBoard you can quickly and easily make information assessable to others on you own private place online. eBoard is perfect for anyone who would like to put information or photos online but doesn't have the need for a web site. You can use eBoard as a personal home page, a "home base" for your family and friends, or a PRIVATE place to share messages and photos with a special group." There's more explanation and a demo on the web page... it took me about 1 minute to sign up and another 10 minutes to build a very simple board. You give out the URL to the persons you want to see the information. It's menu-based and very simple. Perhaps as you explore the concept, you will think of ideas, but if you have a scanner and wish to share Christmas photos with family and friends afar... this is a really neat way to do it. You will want to experiment with sizes. Of course you don't have to use photos...you can put text only on your board easily. Try getting one together over the holidays! Use your imagination... I think you may find lots of uses for this new way of communicating with family & friends... If you are interested in seeing another example.. try www.eboard.com/margesboard That is the "example" board that I set up just to show how the board can be used. 1. [INKOSCIU] Should I make photo copies of entire sections of these census films and post them?
    2. Kerry Butler
    3. A question for the lists: These census films I have been viewing - I've moved the films over to another machine at the FHC and made a copy of several sheets in them, the ones containing my ancestors. These cost 0.30 each. I've seen people make 30 copies a visit on these machines (usually there is a 2-hour max time limit on the viewers if there is a waiting line that day or evening). Is it permissible to copy whole sections of the census and place them on-line? I might be able to get the FHC to agree to let me copy every sheet of entire townships (it would probably take about an hour for one). I can scan these on my PC and post them on-line at the county site. I'm talking about 1880 Noble, 1910 Wabash, now 1870 Kosciusko, and soon 1910 Kosciusko and 1910 Noble Counties IN. Obviously I don't have the time to do all the film's sheets, but there may be a consensus of the most popular townships or towns to copy. Does anyone know FHC policy (I haven't talked to them yet about this)? Now the cost - $0.30 a sheet can add up when there are hundreds of sheets (say many dozens for a township in IN in the region of time we are usually talking about). I would ask for donations to pay for it. Is any of this interesting to anyone? Would people pay their small share? Is it permissible with Genweb and the County sites? With the FHC? With the fed govt? If anyone knows these answers or has an opinion, email away. If the response may be interesting to the mail list members - mail to the list, otherwise, email to my private email address. 1. [INKOSCIU] add'l articles
    2. Marjorie Priser
    3. I have added 4 articles on the YesterYear in Print web page. There is a two-part article on Warsaw in 1889; the eulogy spoken by Rev. Lucas at General Reub Williams's funeral in 1905, and an article published in1946 about the early hotels in Warsaw and most specially about the Wright House with a photo. Enjoy. 1. [INKOSCIU] 1870 Kosciusko Census Films
    2. Kerry Butler
    3. I have received the 2, 1870 Kosciusko Cnty IN Census films. I remember the offers for everyman index checks of page numbers and I'll be in touch with those people soon for the ones I might need. You know who you are. I have a slew of in-laws and side-family to look up in Kosciusko, but I'll try to get to other surnames as well, just like I did in Wabash and Noble Counties. So far I have the following surnames, from requestor's email, on my Kosciusko lookup list: Riggins Riley, et al Berkheiser, et al Daniel Hatfield Eckhart, et al If you want a brief lookup, of one or two surnames, please respond to my private email addr with the surname, any given names you might know of, and if possible, the township location of the household(s). Shorter lists get faster responses. My price for finding a name is a picture postcard from the requestor, of a landscape or historical scene of the requestor's hometown, or the area being researched. I'll give my addr at the time I post names. I will be getting to these films in the next two weeks. I have the 1910 Kosciusko Cnty and Noble County Census films on order, they will be here in around 3 weeks. Kerry Butler [email protected]

    2. Marjorie Priser
    3. Hi Dave All of these books are available in Warsaw at the Jail Museum library and at the public library. They are all indexed in the WPA INDEX of Persons, Places & Firms. Look-ups are available. Copies of bios or information can be obtained as well. One of the mentioned books - Progressive Men and Women is currently available from the Genealogy Section for $22.50. The reprint has an index and additional plat map information. Royse's 2 volume set was reprinted several years ago into 1 volume. Used copies are available occasionally. The Bio & Historical Sketch book was reprinted also, several years ago..and occasionally one sees that volume at auctions. INTERESTING prices for the originals! marge p. ----- Original Message ----- From: Vickie L.
