Terry, Thanks so much for your quick response. I really do appreciate. I will be glad to wait until you check the newspapers. That seems to be my best bet at the moment. The baptismal records were checked. George Huber married Mary Schrenk in Jennings County and their first two children were born and baptized at St Joseph. Their last four children were born in Seymour; the first was in 1884. So George and Mary must have moved there before by that time. I have been unable to find George in any Jennings Co census in 1880 or 1870. He supposedly came to the US thru New Orleans in 1861 - that is according to his papers. But I understand sometimes the date is wrong. I have no way of knowing whether George came directly to IN or whether he worked his way up. He certainly is being a "difficult ancestor".
