I have been searching for years about Patrick and John who were two of the first landowners in Jennings County of whom Patrick you are asking about. I have a big black hole from the time Patrick and John were here until the 1900s but I will share what I know. Early landowners of Jennings County, found in tract book date purchase was made Full Name Location Date purchase was made Ferran, Patrick P 6 61 6/15/1833 Probate Order book C, Page 573 Patrick Ferren was granted U.S. citizenship. Born in County Downs, Ireland, emigrated in 1832, arriving in New Orleans, LA. He remained there a short time, then came to Jennings County age about 55. He declared his intentions of becoming a citizen of Jennings County on 7/15/1840.
