IN Obituaries Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs//genbbs.cgi/USA/In/JenningsObits/304 Surname: Johnson, McCaslin, Lattimore, Turner ------------------------- Jacob Johnson was born in Stark County, Ohio, May 24, 1827; came to Indiana in 1857 and was married to Minerva C. McCaslin December 15, 1859. Their union was blessed with two children, both of whom died in infancy. His companion was taken from him by death April 2, 1863. He was then married to Jemima Lattimore, September 29, 1870, and was united with the Hopewell M. E. church during the same year. Since that time he has lived a consistent Christian life. Mr. Johnson has been a resident of Jennings and Jefferson counties for 33 years, during which time he has been a prominent and substantial citizen, and well-liked by his neighbors. On January 10, 1890, after 10 days of suffering, he passed away at the age of 62 years, seven months, sixteen days. He was a kind husband and a devoted Christian. He was waited upon by two excellent physicians and had the best of care, but all was in vain...The remains were interred in the Graham cemetery on January 11 ...He leaves a wife and a host of friends to mourn his loss.
