Hope I didn't send you on a wild goose chase. The settlement to which I refer IS the major Conner settlement which is noow known as "Conner Prairie" and is the site of much teaching about early Indiana. I don't have the info at hand to tell you about which brother it was that went to Connersville, but I will try to locate it for you. The address for Conner Prairie is 13400 Allisonville Road, Fishers, IN 46038 or www.connerprairie.org. They freely send out information about the area and their programs for both adults and children(about 75,000 per year). If nothing else, it makes good reading. I do remember that Mr. Conner was the first settler in the area and took an Indian wife. Later, he decided to move on and she, not wanting to leave her family and tribe, stayed behind. He later married another. I do not remember whether he took the children with him or not. The original house is still there and forms the basis for the whole complex which includes barns, blacksmith, shopkeeper, store, school, covered bridge, etc. Happy hunting.
