Hi everyone, As most of you know, Antoinette and I have been working on a 120 years ago newspaper column. I have been going to the library and getting copies of a month's worth of newspapers for 1880 and sending them to Antoinette. She's been typing them up and emailing me. I have been distributing it to the list and then posting it at: http://www.newspaperabstracts.com/IN/Jennings.html The current Jennings county newspaper (North Vernon Plain Dealer and Sun) runs a column on Tuesdays (the paper runs twice a week) called 100 years ago today. They print newspaper abstracts from the paper published in 1900. I asked for permission to post this, but it was denied. However, for those interested in subscribing, the cost for a year's subscription to the paper ranges from $26.00 to $35.00 depending on where you live. If you had ancestors here in 1900 you might consider subscribing to the newspaper. Antoinette and I were considering changing our column from 1880 to 1890 (110 years ago today). What we were thinking is that many people lose track of their ancestors between 1880 and 1900 (both census years). We thought if we did a 1890 column maybe that will help some people fill in the gaps. So, what I want to know from you guys if whether you would prefer us to contine the 1880 or change to 1890. I would like to do both and will if I can, but I the cost might be too much for my budget to handle. I have to pay for the copies of the paper and the postage to send it to Antoinette so she can type it up for us. She then emails me the typed version and I distribute it to the lists and the web page. Let me know which you would prefer (1880 or 1890) and I'll concentrate on that year and add the other year in as I have the money to do. Terry Jennings County INGenWeb Coordinator
