Does anyone have any tips to look up the death of Minnie Grayson Ford in Brewersville, IN on or about Feb. 3, 1884. Scott Ford and Minnie Grayson Ford are shown in the 1880 Jennings county census. They were married in Jennings county 5 Feb 1880. She is possible daughter of Beryl P. Grayson and Eliza Jane McCammon. Thanks Henry

When I first read the post below I thought the reference was to very large Conner Prairie Settlement in the Indianapolis area. Genealogists there a decade ago told me my Conner line was unrelated to the Conners there, that in fact there were as many as 200 different Conner lines in early Indiana. Closer reading indicates what sounds like a smaller site wherever Hamilton Co. is and I will see if I can find any online information about them. (If anyone has a mailing address for the location there, I would much appreciate it.) I will also see what I can find out about Connersville. This is the first I have heard of any possible connection. I do believe there were other unrelated Conner's in early Jennings Co. if memory from earlier research serves. Thanks much for the lead. What is the extent of your ability to get information from the 1800s. In other words are there records to which you have access or would your information be more current.? I also use to live in Butlerville. I lived there from early 1943 until June 1950. What mill did you own. I worked in the feed mill which was located along side the railroad. I have other questions for you, but I need to know what years you have lived there. You have described a small crossroads location nowadays which is kind of how it appears on a map. As I stated in the original post, since my Gggrandfather Willoughby Conner and wife Rachel were new settlers there in 1820, and eventually farmed 1000 acres there and raised 13 children five of whom fought in the Civil War, I am interested in what their life was like in the 1820 -1870 period. Was Butlerville a railroad stop that featured only a mill and general store in those times, I wonder? What kind of crops were usually grown in large farms before and during the Civil War? Wheat? Corn? Others? Does the old Conner homestead on 1000 nearby acres still exist, such that residents recognize the surname? Any Conner families still in the area that might have sprung from those 13 kids? Where would the children in 1850 or '60 have gone to school? Is a schoolsite preserved nowadays. The Conner's were active Methodists. Are there old congretations or church houses that date back to Civil War times still there? Is the land flat, rolling, easily tillable? Is it dotted with forests and streams, or is it more like Kansas and Nebraska with fairly flat farmland as far as the eye can see? In other words I am interested in any historical memories or those of old time current residents that might allow one to describe what life was like 150 years ago in the immediate area. Any information much appreciated.I am of an age and physical condition that I will never be able to travel back to that area to research for myself. Thanks!

The only thing I've ever found on him is that he signed for his son, Hayden B. Edwards of Henry Co., KY to marry in 1830. As there are so many "John Edwards'" in KY during that time, it is very difficult to trace them...as I'm sure you know.
