If you are asking of me, I haven't seen that name, but I can certainly check it out in the LITTELL GENEALOGIES if you wish. Louise, did you need help with your Littell's or were you mentioning that you have them. There is a 2-volume book on this family from John of New Jersey mid 1600s to about 1993 I think. My 2 oldest great granddaughters are in it and they will be 7 this year. Thanks for writing and let me know if I can help any with look-ups or what-nots. This was written/compiled by Noble Kieth Littell, Ret. Judge of Marion County, IN. Antoinette waughtel@oz.net Louise J Church wrote: > Hi Antoinette > I have Littells. Judy, I don't have a lot of information on my Murphy's YET! Margaret Murphy married Michael E. Clerkin about 1883. Her parents were John L Murphy and Mary Shearin. I believe all are buried at St Mary's Catholic Cemetery in North Vernon, Indiana. As I continue my research I may come across an answer for you. I'll keep your e-mail just in case. Nancy, that I am not sure of. There was speculation to that due to the fact BURTONs & PRETTYMANs way back when were alongside/following on census and other works. But I have only been given the information in a letter and have never checked it out since it was Prettyman BURTONs sister Jane who is my direct descendant. He was born in 1790 if that helps any as a clue, in Virginia then later went into Kentucky prior to settling in Indiana where he passed on in 1886. His obituary, although quite short, is on my website under Obituaries at http://www.fortunecity.com/millenium/savannah/252/homepage.htm Wish I could help you further but that is the extent of what I "know" on that surname. Oops! I forgot to list my Mayfield and Warner surnames. Others were Lewis, Lett, Miller. Michelle, did any of the Murphys you listed marry Mayfields, Warners or Lewises? Thanks! Judy in Colorado
Hello Jonathan -- well we have discussed the KEITH and BUCHANAN lines now I see you have OWENS. Is this the OWENS line of Mary Ann OWENS who married John Henry KEITH? I believe her father was Lewis Dudley OWENS and her mother Mary MARTIN? My great-grandfather, William Jefferson HARPER(m Emma Dean PEAK) owned a restaurant in North Vernon, according to the 1900 Jennings County Indiana census. I have a copy of a newspaper ad which indicates he also operated a dry goods store at "Iron Block, North Vernon." I would appreciate any information regarding these businesses. Bunny

Scott Wildey - Do you have a Nathaniel HANKINS in your ancestry? My 4th great grandmother was Jane BURTON who at age 17 married William WALKER age 75 in Virginia. They had 4 children, William died 6 weeks prior to birth of last child which was 1805/06. Jane Burton Walker in 1810 was in Shelby County, Kentucky with her brother Prettyman BURTON. In 1811 Shelby County, Kentucky Jane married Nathaniel HANKINS. The only information of her after that is that she died when Thomas (child born 6 weeks after first husband's death) was 9 years old. I have much information on the four children, but have never known whether Jane & Nathaniel had children, if so, what happened to them. By my calculations Jane would have been approximately 32 years of age when she died. Thank you. Antoinette waughtel@oz.net "Scott A. Wildey" wrote: > WILDEY, BUCHANAN, RUBLE, HANKINS
