I've seen a lot of reunions in the paper. I was just wondering if anyone is attending any of them. I was thinking of posting reunions on the page. Any thoughts? Terry

Is there anyone on the list living in or near Scipio, Indiana who may know the Joseph & Florine UNRUE family? They are descendants of the James (& Nancy KEEL) WAUGHTELL family. They descend through James & Nancy's daughter Belle WAUGHTEL who married Joseph PATTON and I descend through Belle's brother John WAUGHTEL & his first wife Eliza Ann KEITH. I do understand they are quite elderly and may not wish to be disturbed. But what I am looking for is a picture of my great grandfather John WAUGHTEL. No one seems to have one of him. I do have one of his parents (my great great grandparents James & Nancy mentioned above) and would love to have one of John if at all possible. If there is anyone who knows these elderly "cousin's" of mine and wouldn't mind asking if they might indeed have such a picture, actually I don't know what I would do. <grin> Thank you for taking the time to read this. I know I am probably asking the impossible, but if I don't ask it, well, I shall never know. Antoinette in Tacoma, Washington waughtel@oz.net
Hi thanks for your reply. Does anyone have any knowledge about the church that Bud Eastman was affiliated with in 1842? He is listed as the minister for the marriage of my second great grandparents---It is signed "minister of the gospel, Church of Christ" I would like to figure out which Church of Christ, if there was more than one at the time...and if other records that mention the couple still exist. Yes, I think I am related but I wrote to him and did not receive a response. I was given his name and address with his permission from the funeral home in N. Vernon. I wrote to them to see if they had any information on who put a new grave marker on my g,g,great grandfather Elias Littell's grave in Jennings Co. I did find out it was someone in Indianapolis by the name of Hubbard. How are you connected? Hi Antoinette, Yes, I have access to the Littell Book. I just wondered if you were personally connected to the same Littell line I am connected to. The book was written before I was researching Littell's and just goes up to Mary Littell, my great grandmother who married Thomas French, so my living family is not in the book. I have had correspondence with the Judge. Thank you for answering me. I found a marriage record through the on-line Indiana State Library Genealogy Division which I would like to send away for. I sent to the Jennings County Clerk of Courts many, many months ago and never heard anything. I would like to know exactly where I write to for a copy of the marriage certificate and how much it costs. Thanks for any help you can give me. Lynne
Hi everyone, Denise at the library gave me a disk to correct some errors on the 1850 Jennings county census, Columbia township. Apparently when Lori typed Columbia township into the spreadsheet there was a sorting error. I had my husband fix the database, so if you had any ancestors that you found from Columbia township on this website please check again to make sure you have the correct information. I hope this didn't cause anyone any problems. Terry http://www.sourceharvest.com/injennin/search1850_form.phtml

Wow, Terry, this is super. I found a direct hit I've been seeking for years. Now I know that the first wife of my great grandfather was Elizabeth Porter, age 11 at time of this census. She lived in Columbia Township in dwelling 560. Her father was apparently John R and her mother was Diodema. Both were born in Ohio. She apparently had several siblings John H (16), James F (13), Charles A and Mary M (8), Isaac (5) and Nancy A (1). (ages at time of census indicated in parenthesis). If there's any more information available about this family, I would be delighted to receive it. I went with my Mother & sisters to North Vernon this summer and went to the cemetery by St. Mary Catholic Church. We saw many of our relatives graves (Ditlinger, Friese, etc., but unfortunately could not locate my mothers' half-sister, Virginina Schulties, not sure on spelling. My mother remembers visiting the grave and seeing an angel headstone when she was a child. Unfortunately, Virginia died at birth or shortly after, 1921 or 1922 before my mother was born. I would also like to know more about my grandmothers first husband, Fred Schulties who died from (being gassed in WW1), my mothers description of death cause. Can anyone tell me who to contact to find out about location of grave, is it there or if the headstone just deteriorated or what? I have also been looking for any information on my grandfather, Daniel O'Connor and his father also Daniel who lived in North Vernon. Thanks, Jeanne
