    3. Hi everyone, I have had a major disaster around here. It seems that my hard drive crashed and I lost just about everything I had on email and on the Jennings county page files. My computer guy husband says that he can eventually get just about everything back from the backups and waving his magic wand and saying the incantation, BUT that's going to take him alot longer than I want to wait. Here are some of my more pressing problems: I've lost all my lookup requests. I haven't been to the library in a couple of weeks and I had some of them printed out but not nearly all. I usually print all the lookup requests in the file right before going so that the papers aren't misplaced. Many of these that I had were cemetery listings. Anyway, if you have sent me a lookup request and I haven't gotten back with you, please send it to me again at tengel@sourceharvest.com. Also, I took some pictures of a cemetery (Otter Creek) and I don't have the address of the requestor to send them out. I had all the cemeteries in Jennings county in my files, but hadn't published them yet. Also, I've lost all of my backup copies of the 110, 120 Years Ago today column. Antoinette, if you have these, will you send them to me. I've lost your address as well. There were many messages that I hadn't read that got lost in the crash. If you sent me something in the last week or two and I didn't respond, please send it again. Lastly, I was making a new page of personal web pages for those who have ancestors in Jennings. If you had sent me a link, please send it again. I had not published these as well. In addition, I had someone who sent me a picture of Paris. The picture came through, but I have lost that as well as your name and email address. Through a process of elimination, I believe that his father could be David Clarkson. David married Elizabeth "Patty" Redmon in Goochland Co in 1751. According to the Douglas Register a son, William, was born to this union on Sep 25, 1774 and was Baptized Jan 3, 1775. I don't know what happened to that William. Between 1800 and 1810 the family moved to Kentucky. By 19 May 1812 he bought 120 acres on Long Run, Shelby Co., from Caleb and Larkin Martin of Jessamine Co. for $600. Then on 10 Oct 1831 he bought another 44 acres from William Taylor of Oldham Co. for $110. He moved his family to Jennings Co., IN and sold both tracts of land to Hugh Galey in 1834 for $1124. Barbary signed this deed and her attorney, James Whitaker, "talked to her privately and apart from her husband" to make sure she was not being pressured into selling. On 9 Feb 1837, he was an original land purchaser in Jennings Co. where they settled on Graham Creek. When he died, his inventory consisted of a clock, a little spinning wheel, 18 yards of carpet and the usual household and farm items. Barbara received 4 acres and the brick dwelling house. However, she died between 10 Aug 1841 and 4 Oct 1841. Her son Henry was appointed administer and he gave her inventory as a horse, colt and household goods. 3. I am looking for any and all info pertaining to the community of Centerville, Jennings Co, IN. I am doing a research project for my father-in-law who lives in the only house in the community still standing. (to my knowledge, anyway). He is also the unofficial custodian of the Centerville Cemetery and we are trying to put together a history of the community and the people who lived there. The old cemetery is in the process of being transcribed but so many of the graves are gone. Does anyone know what happened to the church records from the original church? I believe it was a Methodist church. Does anyone have any info on the cemetery, the community, the church, and/or the people who lived there? Thanks! Alinda M. Miller

    3. I wanted to remind everyone to check the 100 Years Ago today column at http://www.northvernon.com. Go to local news and scoll down to find the column. I've been reading everyone's request for them to archive the column in the editorial section. Hopefully, they will decide to do that. Keep on writing. Terry

    3. Posted on: Jennings County IN Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/In/Jennings/623 Surname: Howard, Carson ------------------------- According to my index of Jennings County marriages, Thomas HOWARD and Mary E. CARSON were married 15 June 1880. Scipio is located in Geneva Township, and if you haven't already done so, you should look at the 1860 and 1870 census records of that township. This may help you find their parents' names.
