I wanted to send you a portion of an email I received regarding the Indiana Pioneer Cenetary Restoration Project. Part of this project involves petitioning the Indiana General Assembly. I know one of my ancestors, Achor Wright who lived in Jay County much of his life, lies buried in an old abandoned cemetary outside of Bloomfield. The pictures I have seen of the state of the cemetary make me very sad, but it disturbs me to think that someday someone might be permitted to completley eliminate it and plunk a parking lot on it. Remote? I don't know. If any one is at all concerned, please click on the URL below, print out and sign the petition. While I wouldn't normally use this list for any political purpose, I thought this project was relevant to us all as Hoosier genealogist and might interest some of you. An edited portion of the email I received is below. Please note that to date there have been no signatures from Jay County. Perhaps thats partially my fault for not imforming you about the project earlier.
