I descend from William Felton Denney who was one of the first settlers of Jay County, IN and who is buried at the Pisquah Cemetery outside Fort Recovery, Ohio. He was my great great grandfather and he left many descendants around the Jay County, IN/Mercer County, Ohio areas. My great grandfather was Harrel Felton Denney. My query concerns Harrel and his wife Caroline, his wife was Caroline Graves, daughter of Henderson Graves, the first Sheriff of Jay County. Harrel's DOB Aug 4, 1827 and DOD Jun 20, 1908 and Carolines DOB Oct 16, 1834 and DOD Unk. My problem is, I can not determine where Harrel and Caroline died and where they are buried. I have a obituary for Harrel which left some hints but they do not seem to pan out, it stated he died on the land his father (William) had pioneered as a grant in Jay County Indiana, if this was so, that means he died in Jay County and should have been recorded there . I have checked with the Jay County Health Dept and there is no Harrel Denney recorded there which means either he was not recorded as a death or died elsewhere. Caroline was still alive in 1907. She may have died in Grant County, near Marion, IN as there are indications she was living with a son there. Can anyone help me here!
