The 1988 book A Composite History of Jackson Co., IN contains a genealogy of the Schwein family on pages 451 and 452. I have written to the Jackson Co. Genealogical Society to determine who submitted the genealogy regarding this family in Germany, but apparently nobody knows the origins. If anybody has more information on the family or a contact, please let me know. The immigrant, Philipp Wilhelm "William" Schwein, was born 3 August 1798 in Sonneberg, Hessen-Nassau, son of Wilhelm Conrad Schwein and Christina Elisabetha Bach. He married as his second wife Maria Elisabetha "Elizabeth" Hermann, b. 14 Jan. 1809 at Naurod, Hessen-Nassau. She was the daughter of Johann Georg Herrmann of Naurod and Maria Elisabetha Ruf of Auringen. Thanks ....
